A happy bubble away from reality
Four weeks ago I cheerfully left for Vancouver to explore the city for a few days before spending a week teaching in Salt Spring Island with Fiona Duthie.

The collection of Colorsofellen consists of products to improve your interior and products to wear. The collection is always developing and innovating its range of extremely fine silk scarves, woollen/silk shawls, curtains, pillows, wall panels, portraits, grand foulards and fabrics for clothing and interior.
Each product is handpainted or digitally designed by Ellen. This creates unique designs. In the webshop you will find items that are immediately available from stock and products that are made on order: choose a customised design for a special occasion, a party or an event deserving special attention or surprise a loved-one with a unique portrait of silk felted with wool. ‘What would life be without color?’
I make an instinctive choice for beautiful silk and after stretching out the fabric on a frame, I start painting with a brush, without a clear-cut plan or idea. Sometimes I use an airbrush and sometimes I combine different techniques. It’s as if the colours choose themselves as they fill the surface in random patterns. Working like this, I thoroughly enjoy the surprise of the result created by the many layers of transparent paint.
