Late last year a pastor asked if I could paint four long silk scarves for her. She wears an Albe (robe) in a light linen color. They are not traditional stoles, but long scarves of more than 3 meters long, which are draped once around the neck and with a long part hanging at the front and a long part at the back. The four colors belong to certain periods.
RED
Red talks about the Holy Spirit
The color red is the color of fire:
The Holy Spirit sets people on fire;
PURPLE
Purple is the color of silence
of reflection and prayer
WHITE
White is the color of joy
Because of God's love for people
White is the color of Christ's victory over death
GREEN
Green is the color of life
The color green is the color of hope
The color green is the color of the future
I stretched 330 cm long Ponge 5 silk of 112 cm wide, on a very big frame.
I first painted the green with wax and then painted it in 4 colors of green with a brush.
And painted the red scarf with large circles, with one end being bright red and the other side dark red.
On the white scarf I painted circles on one side in a very light ocher yellow and the other side in very light gray.
I sprayed the purple one in different shades of purple.
