We start with a demonstration of various silk painting techniques. After that, everyone gets to work using special silk paints, brushes, stamps, markers, and more.
We paint until lunchtime. The silk is then steamed for 2.5 hours in a professional steamer.
During this time, participants can enjoy lunch, go shopping, or take a walk through the beautiful historic city of Deventer.
In the afternoon, we felt the painted silk together with wool (prefelt). Using the felting machine, the felting process is started, followed by hands-on work. This ensures that wool and silk bond firmly and shrink together into a beautiful felted fabric. After rinsing, spinning and ironing, the finished pieces are ready to take home. From there, they can be turned into wall panels, garment parts, bags, pouches, book covers, and much more – the possibilities are endless.
This workshop is limited to 6 participants.

Cost
€149 per person
- Including €25 for materials (paints, silk, prefelt)
- Use of the professional steamer and felting machine
- Coffee, tea and sweet treats

Lunch is not included.
We start at 9.30 am with coffee, tea and something sweet, and begin working around 10.00 am. From approximately 12.30 / 1.00 pm until 3.30 pm there is a break, during which you can explore Deventer while the silk is being steamed. The workshop ends around 6.30 / 7.00 pm.
