Inspired by these impressions, I painted a large piece of silk, which I then steamed to fix the colours before felting it with wool. Finally, I stretched the textile over a frame.
The layers of paint and wool create a rich surface filled with subtle colour variations and details. The work changes with the light and reveals different qualities depending on how you look at it. This is precisely what makes working with silk and wool so special to me.
The panel has found a beautiful place in the client's interior. A unique piece, created specifically for the space it was designed for.
