A bold yet balanced colour combination brought to life in custom-designed curtains, adding warmth and personality to a modern apartment.
For a brand-new apartment in Deventer, I was honoured to create custom curtains that would reflect the unique atmosphere of both the space and its residents. On my first visit, I encountered an exciting mix of aubergine-toned furniture and a green accent wall — an unusual, inspiring challenge.
Designing digitally gave me the freedom to blend these colours into a smooth, elegant transition. The chosen pattern features a flowing, wave-like movement, where the purple and green tones meet softly, without creating an unwanted muddied effect.
After the final design was chosen, we printed a test version on the actual fabric. Once approved, the curtain was printed in one large, seamless piece — no visible joins or repeats. It was then professionally sewn and installed by a curtain specialist.
The result: a warm, harmonious, and original interior, with improved acoustics as a bonus. It’s always rewarding to see how curtains, tailored so precisely to a space, can transform a house into a home.
