A client in the east of the Netherlands asked me to fabricate two large curtains. The curtains were intended for a former farmhouse building, which had been converted into a comfortable residence, with a sharp eye for detail, while preserving some of the structure’s original features. The walls and floors were done up in neutral tones and the client wished to add some vibrant colour and warmth to the whole.
After checking the website and the shop for different styles, the ultimate choice was made for ‘Traava’. This is a design consisting of many transparent layers, causing a beautiful flow from one colour into the other. After I had first created a couple of colour variations, the client opted for a design in various red and yellow ochre colours, with a hint of gray from the floor. Then a test print was made on the right piece fabric. After its approval, the fabric was printed and the curtains were customized. It is always fun to see the end result when the curtains are hung in place. The client is very satisfied and pleased with the many positive reactions from visitors.
