Lotte dreamed of getting married in a dress full of color. She searched everywhere but couldn’t find a gown that truly felt like her. In the end, she chose a simple white dress. Not long after, she came across my website, where she discovered examples of colorful wedding dresses.
She visited my shop in Deventer to talk about the possibility of bringing more color into her wedding dress.
In the end, I hand-painted two pieces of fine silk, each 3 meters long, and a friend turned them into a beautiful circle skirt that Lotte could wear over her white gown.
She wished for lots of color—transparent and playful—with the painted design rising high at the slit and then flowing subtly down the other side of the skirt.
It was such a beautiful and unique commission, and I truly loved working on it. These wonderful photos from the wedding day of Lotte and her partner Lucie were taken by @ingekooiman.
