During this nuno* felt workshop we place the hand-painted, steamed, washed, and ironed silk on a layer of wool. This is a so-called pre-felt. Pre-felt is a fabric in which the wool fibers have already been lightly pre-treated (felted).

We wet the wool and silk with water and soap and process these 2 layers by hand and partly with the felting machine, which takes the heavy rolling work out of your hands.
By processing the wool and silk, the fiber of the wool goes through the silk and the 2 fabrics eventually become one fabric. The wool shrinks, but the silk cannot shrink, which creates a beautiful organic bubble structure, which fits very nicely with the look of the hand-painted silk.

The starting size of the wool is 300x120 cm. The wool shrinks by approximately 25% due to the felting process. A soft and strong felt fabric is created, suitable for a throw, shawl, wall hanging, or fabric for making clothing.

A maximum of 2 people can participate in a felting day. If 1 person participates, the workshop lasts half a day.
The costs of this felt workshop are Euro 225.00 per person.
Included: use of the felting machine, coffee/tea with something sweet.
Not included: 3 meters of pre-felt and lunch.

The dates for this felt workshop are in consultation. Felting the silk cannot be followed immediately after a 2-day silk painting workshop, because the silk must first be steamed for a long time.
